    Prehistoric Age
    • People have lived here even before the Bronze Age as prehistoric sites have been excavated at Biryong-dong, Secheon-dong, and Samjeong-dong and artifacts from the Old Stone Age and New Stone Age have been discovered in Gujeuk-dong, Dunsan-dong, and Guseong-dong.

A part of Dong-myeon and Daedeok-gun, Nangwol-ri, Daebyeol-ri, Isa-ri, Daeseong-ri, Jangcheok-ri, Soho-ri, Gudo-ri, Samgoe-ri, Sangso-ri and Haso-ri of Sannae-myeon were incorporated into Dong-gu. Ojeon-dong, Daehwa-dong, Eupnae-dong, Yeonchuk-dong, Sindae-dong, Wa-dong, Songchon-dong, Beop-dong, Jungni-dong and Birae-dong were incorporate into Daedeok-gu.
