This area houses historical relics including the tomb of Chungam(penname) Kim jeong(1486-1521). Kim is known for his contribution to the propagation of Hyangyak(agreement by villagers on self-governing rules) across the country together with Jo Gwang-jo during the reign of Kim Jeong. In 1519, Kim and Jo were accused of pursuing radical doctrines and was sent to prison. Later Kim was deported to Gumsan, then to Cheju Island, where he received poison endowed by the King to kill himself.
Originally, Kim's grave was located in Dongmyeon, Daedukgun. However, due to the flooding of a nearby dam which inundated the Dongmyeon area in 1978, the tomb was moved to its current location along with other relics pertaining to Kim.
