Geographical Features
  • It is located in the far south of South Chungcheong Province and is the hub of traffic and gateway to the Youngnam and Honam areas. It borders the 5 guns of Daejeon, North Chungcheong Province and North Jeolla Province and Nonsan City.
  • Its average height above sea level is about 250m, 2.5 times higher than that of South Chungcheong Province making a G. It is home to the best mountain peaks in South Chungcheong Province.
  • It has various streams such as Seohwa-cheon (stream) running to Okcheon, Cheonnae-gang (river) to Youngdong, Youdong-cheon to West Daejeon, Bulgok-cheon to Nonsan City and Jangsin-cheon to Wanju gun.
