Masan-dong Fortress
Masan-dong Fortress

Masandong Mountain Fortress was built to surround the peak of Mt. Masandong, which rises 220 meters above sea level, during the Three Kingdoms Era. The fortress stretches along an area of 200 meters in perimeter. Only parts of the southern wall of the fortress still remains. A stone structure was found which is presumed to be the site of a 'jangdae', which was built to defend against enemy attack more effectively. To the northwest of the fortress stands Nogosanseong(mountain fortress) while to the southwest stands Gyejoksanseong(mountain fortress).
