2. Freshwater shrimp, maeuntang(Fish stew)
Freshwater fish stew featuring catfish, mandarin fish, and shrimp caught from Daecheongho Lake along with a clear, spicy broth and sujebi is excellent. It offers a neat and clean flavor with local freshwater shrimp.
3. Kalguksu
Daejeon was famous for its kalguksu restaurants from long ago and you can try spicy kalguksu known for its spicy soup, handmade kalguksu known for its simple, clean flavor, manila clam kalguksu with a strong and clean broth, native kalguksu, and seafood kalguksu along with other strong meat broths and chewy noodles.

4. Grapes

Naengmyeon is one of the cold noodle menus featuring boiled noodles in cold broth along with spices and garnish. Taste the naengmyeon of Dong-gu for the summer with Wonmi Myeonok and Panam Myeok renowned for their Hwanghae-do Province style chicken broth and Haeju Naengmyeon, which is renowned for its Pyeongyang style naengmyeon mixing beef leg bone and dongchimi.
7. Dumplings
Dumplings are made by filling flour packets with various ingredients and you can enjoy various dumpling menus unique to Dong-gu, such as northern style Gaecheon dumplings and dumpling hot pot, at Oga Gyeongseong Dumplings, Indong King Dumplings, Elephant King Dumplings, and King Kong Dumplings.
8. Hotteok
Hotteok is made with flour dough with various fillings and cooked by slightly frying it in oil as a popular winter snack. Taste the sweet, warm snacks of Dong-gu such as honey hotteok at Jungang Market of Dong-gu and bongyi hotteok at Maninsan Service Area.
